Weddings

Sophie and Dan on their wedding day.

I’m passionate about making the flowers special for your wedding, to perfectly match your vision for the day.

My style is classic, vintage and romantic, and less formal than most, as though the flowers were handpicked from the garden.

This works well with weddings at the picturesque country houses, vintage forts and rustic barns we are blessed with in Devon and East Cornwall.

I help you get your wedding day right by assisting with styles and colours that will set the tone for the whole event.

I'll guide you through options ranging from bright and beautiful to soft and delicate.

We can discuss and choose the right shapes and styles to complement your dress, and those of your bridesmaids.

Jess and Richard

This beautiful hand tied bouquet is synonymous with femininity and romance.

The delicate shades of pink throughout blend with one another and draw the eye around the whole design.

It was one of the first wedding bouquets I made and I was thrilled with the results.

The style formed the basis of what I consider my signature bouquet design: elegant, romantic and classic.

The focal flower is a David Austin rose.

Every bloom is slightly different, with the colourings described as "the prettiest blush and blossom pinks swirling with clotted cream".

The scent is the most delicate sweet and spicy myrrh with almond, marzipan and vanilla.

For further interest, a single coloured small-headed rose was used, adding a darker shade which blends and provides definition.

Darker shades of the smaller pink astrantia add depth and draw the eye from the focal flower into the rest of the design.

Texture and movement come from fluffy spiked astilbe unexpectedly peeping out.

Jess wanted her bridesmaids to have the same bouquet. I made smaller versions to ensure hers was the main attraction.

Using white astrantia with a slightly green edged petal linked to the sage bridesmaids dresses and blended with their lace bodices and Jess's beautiful lacy gown.

All the bouquets were tied with hessian ribbon, secured with pearl headed pins, matching the wonderful hessian pew ends made by Jess's mother.

Georgia and Thomas

Georgia and Thomas were married in the grounds of Trevenna Barns, St Neots, Cornwall

Georgia wanted a natural looking bouquet, looking like it had just been picked. She wasn't keen on roses so instead I chose pink eustoma as the feature flower.

To achieve the look, I chose flowers you'd find in a typical cottage garden, including pale pink astilbe, light blue delphiniums, white veronica, pink stocks and eryngium.

Eucalyptus foliage is always popular for weddings.  Its appeal is in the blue-grey leaves. Georgia chose a variety which is dainty and has a lovely fresh almost lime green colour.

Georgia chose gypsohilia and small yellow centred daisies for the bridesmaids. The gypsophilia picks out the beading on their bodices and the bouquets were tied with hessian ribbon to match the bride's.

We just wanted to say thank you so much for our amazing wedding flowers. They fitted in perfectly on the day and we had many compliments on the day. Georgie and Thom.

Hannah and Ashley

Blush pink scented roses mixed with a vintage coloured rose, giving Hannah's bouquet the romantic charm she desired.

Pink spire shaped astilbe and the slightly darker star like astrantia gave the bouquet a blush pink colour, with areas of white gypsophila and veronica peeping through.

Hannah's bridesmaids' bouquets were similar to her bouquet but smaller. I used the same flowers throughout but the flowers were white apart from the roses which matched Hannah's.

The colour scheme was therefore ever so slightly different but the overall effect blended perfectly together.

Mina and George

Exotic jewel coloured flowers for Mina's wedding

It was a real delight to work with Mina and George for their Indian themed wedding. An opportunity that doesn't arise often.

Vibrant colours and exotics were used to create the stunning bouquet.

Blousy David Austin "Darcey" roses were the focal point. They're "claret coloured awash with raspberry red and rich berry tones".  Peach toned vuvuzela roses and orange and pink roses added to the jewel-like palette.

Gloriosa, a striking climber flower, added further lavishness, along with purple conical shaped celosia and kangaroo paw.

It's always lovely to have some scent in a bouquet and a two-toned red and orange coloured freesia provided this.

Eucalyptus cinnerea, a variety with oval shaped blue-grey leaves and seedheads tied with a gold ribbon finished off the bouquets.

Six smaller bouquets were made for Mina's bridesmaids.

Just a message to say a HUGE thank you for doing such an amazing job with the flowers. The tables and the bouquets were beautiful and everybody commented on them. Much love, Mina xx

Rosie and Eric

Brides often come to me with pictures from the internet of designs and flower choices they like. Rosie was one of them, and I loved it.

Her wedding to Eric was at the Horn of Plenty near Tavistock.

Seasonal anenomes in the palest pink and white, with deep inky coloured centres were the eye catching flowers, along with white avalanche roses.

To complement these we chose pale pink astilbe, conical and fluffy, with delicate pink eustoma and scented white stocks.

As a nod to Eric's Scottish roots, some blue thistle shaped eryngium were interspersed through the design.

To get the loose open look that Rosie wanted, I chose three varieties of eucalyptus. The arching stems are just perfect for this type of airy design.

The bridesmaids carried identical bouquets to Rosie's.  All three were tied with beautiful velvet ribbon with trailing tails.

The emerald coloured bridesmaids' dresses provided the perfect backdrop to the soft colour and green foliage palette

Hannah and Luke

Hannah and Luke on their wedding day at The Green, Liskeard

Every now and again I get asked to make a "shower bouquet" also known as a "teardrop" bouquet.

Hannah's favourite flower is gladioli and luckily it was in season when she got married to Luke in September 2021.

My mission, which I chose to accept, was finding a red gladioli to match Luke's red sash. I think I succeeded!

The only other flower in the brides bouquet was a deep dark red freesia. The foliage was soft ruscus.

Emma and Ben

Festival vibes. Bouquets of colour and lots of trailing ribbons

Emma and Ben wanted their wedding to be like a festival.

The order of the day was lots of bright flowers, minimal foliage, "messy" shaped bouquets, and a plethora of ribbons!

Another one of those weddings that doesn't come along very often.

Sunflowers had to be included as one of Emma's favourites.

I was able to go overboard with colour, adding pops of pinky red astilbe, golden sunflowers, purple scabious, cerise veronica, yellow balls of crespedia, white dahlias and lots of helichrysum.

To achieve the "messy" look that Emma requested, some flowers popped out and others were set back in the bouquet. The spire shaped astilbe and the arching stems of eucalyptus enhanced this effect.

Emma told me that one of her guests commented that the trailing ribbons reminded her of the ribbon tower at Glastonbury festival.

Jenny and Tom

Country garden flowers were fitting for Jenny and Tom's wedding day and reception in the beautiful garden of Jenny's parents

Jenny told me she wanted an "English country country garden look"  with lots of foliage and soft pale pink, blush and white colours.

Their reception was in Jenny's parents garden and the couple had lots of great ideas of how they wanted the area dressed including flowers in wellies next to signage.

Floral arrangements, wellies and a watering can adorned the signage at Jenny and Tom's garden reception

I made suggestions of flowers which would be available in July, in the colour palette that had been described.

Jenny opted for a lovely garden rose, a nude rose, white and a champagne coloured eustomas, white scented stocks, pink astilbe and a white wax flower.

Several varieties of eucalyptus were included with leatherleaf foliage.

Jenny's bridesmaids carried smaller versions.  The nude rose and soft blush pinks of some of the other flowers complemented their pale pink dresses, whilst the foliage linked to the lovely sage bridesmaids' dresses.

Kate and Tom

A classic bouquet of white scented roses and eucalyptus foliage. A look that will never date

I was so pleased when Kate and Tom eventually were able to marry.  Due to the pandemic their wedding date was changed three times!

Kate wanted a classic style bouquet of white roses. I chose a variety with a delicate sweet perfume.

I intermingled this with white eustoma and greeny grey eucalyptus cinnerea, to transition from one flower to another.

The round shape of the bouquet showed off the beautiful white gown that Kate wore and the buttonhole on Tom's uniform.

White and green: a classic bridal combination for Kate's wedding
I cannot recommend Emma highly enough! If you are looking for a warm, friendly, incredibly talented florist for your wedding, look no further! Our wedding has changed dates and venues multiple times, and it has never been any trouble at all. She was so supportive and helpful! She has always been readily contactable, and I truly felt listened to. My bouquet was absolutely exquisite! Thank you so much Emma! Kate and Tom.

Aaron and Bina

Woodland tones for a wedding at The Two Bridges, Princetown.

Nude; salmon; cream; mustard and cinnamon tones, the colour scheme for Aaron and Bina's wedding.  The couple wanted these beautiful shades to create their woodland Whinnie the Pooh style wedding at The Two Bridges Hotel at Princetown.

When I met the couple at their wedding consultation, Bina brought along pictures of bouquets she liked and together we were able to design her perfect bouquet.

Hessian ribbon and pearl headed pins were wrapped around the stems of the bouquets.  String tied the stems of the buttonholes completing the rustic look.
