Weddings, home and abroad
Happy summer everyone! I hope the sun has been shining wherever you are.
I've recently had a week in Italy with one of my daughters. We visited the Amalfi coast and it was wonderful, guess what we stumbled across? Three weddings, one in Amalfi, and two in Sorrento. The Italians seem to get married on any day of the week!
Italian Weddings
It was lovely to spot this old VW Beetle ready to whisk the couple away after they had been showered with confetti and rose petals.
Like our tradition of throwing confetti over the newlyweds, guests at Italian weddings also wait outside until the couple comes out and then showers them with rice, coriandoli (confetti), pasta and even white rose petals. There are many different interpretations for why rice is used, but most agree that it’s wishes of prosperity and wealth, and perhaps even fertility.
The white and blue colour scheme of flowers chosen in this Italian wedding, were white eustoma, white gyp, white roses, white chrysanthemums, blue hydrangea, yellow golden rod, asparagus fern and fountain grass.

Two were held at the beautiful Ever After venue. A boutique elopement wedding venue at Grenofen, Tavistock, Devon. PL19 9ES.
Its the perfect location if your looking for a intimate ceremony. It caters for up to 6 guests and 10 in the warmer months.
